Council: no whining, complaining, excuses, please

Dear Editor:
Our governing body is representing us whether we like it or not and they must perform professionally whether they like each other or not. It’s time for them to reach across the aisle and work like a team for the citizens of Hoboken. Whether we liked it or not, our state legislators just gave us an example of their teamwork effort in passing landmark reforms.
It’s time for our City Council members to control the human tendency to whine, complain and make excuses. They must really get together to continue righting Hoboken’s financial ship and in turn making the right decisions to solve our main problems. You don’t have to be the brightest to achieve success. One just has to be prepared [prior to council meetings] and work hard toward meaningful goals that benefit the citizens of Hoboken.
With the new re-organization of the City Council, it’s ‘high time’ for each of the nine council members to respect each other [stop any name calling] and use the rules of law, reason and common sense. One has to lead by example.
I wish them all good health and the wisdom to ‘do their job’.

Respectfully,

Richard R. Tremitiedi
