Union City police kill pit bull that apparently killed poodle

UNION CITY AND BEYOND — This afternoon Union City Police responding to a gas leak at a building in the middle of 39th Street and Kennedy Boulevard shot and killed a pitbull that apparently had mauled and killed a poodle.
According to media sources, a lady exiting the building due to the supposed gas leak noticed that her poodle was being attacked by a leashed pitbull. In an attempt to fight off the dog the lady stabbed the dog a few times, which caught the attention of the police responding to the gas leak.
The police immediately open fire on the leashed pitbull. The poodle died from its injuries.
The owners of the dogs were not charged with anything by the police, according to a report.
