POLICE NEWS

Police arrested Robert Dash, 21, from Bronx, N.Y., on June 5 after responding to a noise complaint about a party on 88th Street.
Upon entering the house, police encountered Dash, who allegedly shoved an officer and shouted obscenities. He was charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $10,000, which he posted, according to Lt. Frank Cannella.
But there is an epilogue to the story.
Dash’s friend Amanda Landin, 18, Providence, R.I., allegedly spray painted something on police headquarters after Dash’s arrest. (Another newspaper reported that she painted “Why are you in that uniform?”) The action was caught on tape, and she turned herself in, Cannella said. She was charged with criminal mischief. Her bail was set at $5,000, which she posted.

Alleged chop shop discovered

Three men were arrested last week at a defunct car wash on Paterson Plank Road after Police received a call from a local resident. The caller said a suspicious vehicle had entered the car wash.
Officers Yusef Yousef, Jason Appello, Anthony Cirri, and Alfredo Echeverria responded to the call and noted that the lock had been ripped off the hinge of the door.
“Upon making entry to the building,” said Lt. Frank Canella, “immediately two men started running. Those officers took up chase and were able to capture three of the four individuals.”
Cannella added that the K-9 unit came on the scene from the sheriff’s department to search for the fourth suspect, but to no avail.
Amandy Acosta and Herberto Camejo, both 22, and Eduardo Jimenez, 23 – all of Jersey City – were each charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, aggravated assault on a police officer, obstruction, and resisting arrest, according to Lt. Cannella.
Cannella said that a chop shop-type operation was allegedly going on, in which stolen cars are taken apart and their parts are sold.
