WEST NEW YORK — Newly elected Mayor Felix Roque and his slate were sworn into office on Tuesday in front of a group of friends, family, and government officials from nearby towns.
Voters in West New York choose five commissioners, who decide which person will be mayor amongst themselves.
Congressman Albio Sires administered the oath of office to the newly elected commissioners Felix Roque, Caridad Rodriguez, Count Wiley, Fior D’Aliza Frias and Ruben Vargas.
The commissioners held their reorganization meeting, at which Dr. Roque was chosen as mayor. A public swearing in will also be held next week.
