A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Jersey City for Amado R. Salang Sr., 82, of Jersey City. He died April 15 at Jersey City Medical Center. He was born in Bataan, Philippines. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years in the United States Coast Guard and the he served for many years in the Merchant Marines. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (nee Tangalin) and is survived by his children Margaret Lynes, Caroline Gerbera, and Amado R. Salang Jr., four grand and one great grandson and his brothers and sisters, Juanito Salang, Delfin Salang, Josefina Suarez, Amelia Medina, Apolonar Salang, Necitas Garcia, Generoso Salang Roberto Salang and a host of neices and nephews.
