Five Guys Burgers and Fries to hold autism fundraiser

On Monday and Tuesday, April 18 and 19, Five Guys Burgers and Fries of Hudson County will open their doors and their hearts to help raise money for The Simpson Baber Foundation for the Autistic. In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, owners Adam Willets, Phil Surico and Jim Hare will donate a percentage of sales from their four Hudson County locations to the foundation.
Partner Adam Willets said, “Five Guys of Hudson County is proud to support The Simpson-Baber Foundation. They are doing a great job of educating the public on this terrible developmental disability and we hope everyone will come out on these days to support them in their efforts.”
The term “Autism” covers a spectrum of disorders that affects 1 in every 110 children – 1 in 94 in the state of New Jersey. The Simpson Baber Foundation exists to educate the public on the spectrum of autism and to provide educational, social and recreational opportunities to children with autism.
The foundation’s most ambitious project to date is the Busy Bee Center for Children with Autism, a first of its kind early intervention program for children as young as 18 months old. Recently featured on WPIX Channel 11 News, The Busy Bee program strives to take advantage of, and enlarge, the limited window of opportunity for the successful treatment of autism.
“We are so grateful to the owners of Five Guys for embracing our cause,” Foundation founder and chairperson, Marguerite Baber said. “Their generosity and community involvement will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of children with autism. We encourage everyone to enjoy a delicious burger at Five Guys in honor of all people affected by autism.”
This two day fundraiser will be held at the following Five Guys locations: 319 Washington St., Hoboken; 286 Washington St., Downtown Jersey City; 2100 88th St (at Tonnelle Ave.), North Bergen, and 301 Bayonne Crossing Way, Bayonne Crossings Mall.
