Dear Editor:
Ok this is getting out of hand regarding the dog owners in this community not cleaning up after their dog. The residents who live on the west side of Grand Street, exactly between 2nd and 3rd Street continually do not clean up after their dog, every morning. This is most especially happening in front of the apartment building number 208 as well as 204 and 222. The size of dog feces is very large and seems to be coming from a couple of dogs, because there is evidence of it stretching from 2nd street to 3rd Street and on both sides. This has been going on since September of 2010. I know this because I am employed by a local school in town and my students use the Multi Purpose Center which is on Grand Street. The route to get to the MPC is to walk south on Grand Street crossing through 2nd and 3rd St. Not only does my school use the center, many other schools in the area do as well. Every day I have at least one small child who steps in dog feces, which In turn will bring it into the school, which can be harmful to the other children. I also have stepped in it on many occasions, and it just seems to be everywhere on that block. There is too much of it to be avoided, especially for a very small child. Clean It Up! Not only are you irresponsibly breaking the law, you are endangering the children in the community! If you are not ready for the responsibility of owning a dog in this city, do not have one!
