Music, math, and more

For Weehawken students, “school” doesn’t stop when the bell rings at 3 o’clock. In fact, that’s usually when the fun is just beginning.
On Wednesday, Theodore Roosevelt School held their annual Spring Concert. The students, led by Music Teacher Suzanne Chadwick, delighted the crowd with the sounds of music.
And students at the Daniel Webster School have been getting in on some extracurricular excitement of their own with various events on recent Friday nights, including movie showings and “math madness.”

During Webster’s Math Madness Family Night, organized by Math Coordinator Jeannine Muneyyirci, parents and teachers joined students for a fun and educational evening featuring origami, geometrics, counting, games, architecture, and measuring – representing just some of the skills students have learned throughout the year.
“It was a great success,” said Anthony Colasurdo, principal of Webster School. “Parents and their children [worked] together on fun and educational math activities.”
As for Weehawken High School students, they planned on bringing the “drama” this weekend with their interpretation of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m.
