To the Editor:
I am a lifelong resident. I have seen many changes, but one thing remains the same: the close ties that we have shared throughout the years.
For those of you who do not know me, I have suffered a devastating loss. My dear brother, Hugh J. Boyle III, died on Feb. 10. He was a musician. At his wake, there were several friends who organized a tribute concert, which was held at Abbey’s Too on March 18. I never met Steve and Peggy before, but when I walked into Abbey’s for the first time and told them I was Hugh’s sister, they treated me like family. Jimmy and Lori Foote organized the entire event with help from a few friends. There were five bands that performed. I saw people that my brother and I knew from high school, and his best friend since grammar school, Ricky, and his wife, Debbie. There were well over 100 friends and family that attended.
I am so grateful to everyone who came to show their love for my brother. He was such a great guy, and it warms my heart to know that so many wonderful people cared so much about him. Thank you all. What you did for my brother means more to me than you could ever imagine. Thank you.
