Support the high school

The Secaucus Public Education Foundation will hold a fundraiser on Tuesday, April 5 from 4 to 11 p.m. in conjunction with Cheeseburger in Paradise. For the event, Cheeseburger in Paradise will donate 20 percent of each bill to the foundation. Over the years the foundation has funded projects for the Secaucus School District totaling more than $150,000.
To participate in the fundraiser, diners must present a flier in order for the foundation to receive its 20 percent share of the bill. For get a copy of the flier, please visit www.sboe.org/spef/ or email SECPEF@gmail.com. Cheeseburger in Paradise is located at 700 Plaza Drive, Secaucus.

Mad Hot Ballroom

Professional ballroom dancer Alex Tchassov will lead a series of ballroom dance classes at the Secaucus Recreation Center beginning on April 1 and running through the end of the month. (There will be no class on Good Friday, April 22.) The one-hour classes will begin at 7 p.m. Registration is $30 per person. All singles and couples are welcome. Tchassov promises that dancers will have a good time, get some exercise, and learn impressive new steps – just in time for the upcoming wedding season. Peter Cottontail coming to town

On Saturday, April 16, Secaucus High School’s junior class will host the annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event in the high school cafeteria. The breakfast and bunny photo-ops will be followed by the annual Easter Egg Hunt, always a fun time for children and parents alike. Start time for the event will be announced within the next two weeks.

Key school board election dates

The school board election will be held on Wed., April 27. (Yes! This year, voting will be on a Wednesday, rather than the traditional Tuesday.) There are some key dates voters should keep in mind as Election Day nears.

Wednesday, April 20 is the deadline to obtain a Vote by Mail application. Here is the link to obtain the application: http://www.hudsoncountyclerk.org/elections/default.htm.
