A funeral mass was celebrated March 25 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, North Bergen, for John E. Malik, 92. “Johnny Gramps,” formerly of West New York, passed away March 20. Born in Guttenberg he was a retired compounder for International Flavors and Fragrances in Teterboro. He was an Army Air Force veteran serving in World War II. He was a member of the Slovak Cathoilc Sokel Organization. He was the husband of Virginia (nee Topf); father of Cindy Serafino – Abbadessa and her husband Joseph; brother of Joseph Malik; grandfather of Joshua Serafino, Adele Abbadessa, Alison Rovinsky, Joe Joe Abbadessa; and great-grandfather of Paige, Mackenzie and Parker John; and also survived by nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Vainieri Funeral Home, North Bergen.
