Dear Editor:
Our family was first introduced to Greg Lincoln, candidate for the 3rd ward City Council, soon after moving to Hoboken in 2009, when we moved from Manhattan. As 3rd warders ourselves, we support Greg in his candidacy because we believe this ward desperately needs an honest voice. We believe he is the candidate that will work with, rather than fight against, our current mayor in the great efforts she is making to keep Hoboken from becoming “Hobroken” once again.
Greg is an accidental political candidate. His history is not tainted by suspiciously lost city income or close ties to corruption. Most importantly, Greg has spent substantial time educating himself by attending city council meetings for more than two years and conversing with other like-minded individuals who want to see real, positive change in Hoboken. He has initiative and is willing to put in the time to ensure our ward has the strong representation it needs. He is a tax-paying homeowner who is raising a family in the 3rd ward and who doesn’t expect the city to subsidize his housing simply because of who his family or friends are. We believe he is exactly the type of person who should help make decisions about our city.
Greg Lincoln is committed to continue to work toward more accountability in our city government and to make the city more livable, two issues that we feel are very important. We believe that Hoboken is headed in the right direction under the current administration and that Greg Lincoln is the right choice for the 3rd ward to keep up this progress.
We urge our fellow third ward residents to: first, make sure to register to vote by April 15; second, vote Greg Lincoln for City Council on May 10.
Sincerely,
James Mack
