A funeral mass was performed March 21 at St. Aloysius Church, Jersey City, for Richie Pilla, 77. He died March 17 at Bayonne Medical Center. A lifelong Jersey City resident, a charitable individual, he worked 43 years as a truck driver. A member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 266, the Christopher Columbus Club and he was Jersey City’s Irishman of the Year in 1998. He was the husband of the late Rosemarie (Hoffman); father of Richard, Jr., and his wife Alice, Joseph and his partner Kevin Davis and Anthony and his wife Laurie and grandfather to Alexandra, Danielle, Rosemarie and Megan and generous friend to all; brother of Faye Santoro, Madelyn, Santollo, John Pilla, Maryann O’Kelly and the late Rose Fiore and Dominick “Junior” Pilla and many nieces and nephews.
