A funeral mass was offered March 19 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Montclair, for Dr. Joseph A. Carluccio, 59. He passed away March 15 at home in Montclair with his family beside him. Born and raised in Hoboken, he graduated from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, 1973, and the University of Rome, 1979, with a doctorate in medicine. Dr. Carluccio maintained a private practice in the Montclair and Bloomfield area for the last 30 years. He was elected Chief Resident at Mountainside Hospital, the director of the Headache Center, and also at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, The Town Physician for municipal employees of Montclair, and member of the Headache Society and Alumni Association of Hudson Catholic H.S. in Jersey City.
He was the husband for 31 years of Dr. Aurora DeJuliis, MD; father of Nicole, and her husband Stephen Burns of River Vale, Alessia Carluccio of Montclair, and her fiancée Eric Roehnelt, and John J. Carluccio, also of Montclair; and brother of Livia, and her husband Vincent Wolff of Old Bridge. Services arranged by Frank Halpin’s Brookdale Funeral Home, Bloomfield.
