Funeral mass was held March 24 at St. John the Baptist Church for Louis Angotti, age 81, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away March 20. Louis worked at Standard Packing for 25 years, and later retired from Progressive Corp. He was an Army World War II veteran, stationed in Japan, and a member of the American Legion. Mr. Angotti loved taking drives with his wife, together they traveled numerous times to Florida and across the U.S. and even Europe. Louis enjoyed walking, and walked four miles a day, making stops to friends along the way. He was a kind and helping friend, uncle and husband and gladly lent a helping hand to many neighbors. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Yolanda (Gareffa) Angotti; brother of the late Salvatore Angotti and late Rose Lavell; brother-in-law of Bruno and Anna Gareffa; and uncle of nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.
