Hoboken convenience store robbed with semiautomatic pistol this morning

HOBOKEN – Police are on the lookout after the convenience store at 305 Willow Ave. was robbed by an armed suspect on early Wednesday morning.
The victim was working alone in the store when at approximately 4:40 a.m., a black male in his mid to late 30s asked for a pack of cigarettes, then ordered the employee to the ground after pulling out a black semi automatic handgun, according to police. Police say the suspect then came around the counter and emptied the register.
The suspect is approximately 6’1, weighing 210 lbs. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants with facial hair resembling a goatee, according to police. He was further described as wearing a navy blue “skully” type winter hat, and had a plaid colored shirt, which was “possibly navy blue, red, and white” according to police.
