Funeral was offered March 11 at St. Bridget Church, Jersey City, for Manuel F. Montanez, 57. He passed away March 5 at his residence. Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, he lived all of his life in Jersey City. He worked as a self-employed carpenter, using his talent to build and repair houses. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 211 in Jersey City for many years. He was the father of Angel, Manuel, Cherilyn and Crystal Montanez; brother of 9 sisters and 7 brothers; grandfather of 7; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
