DE FALCO, PHILIP

Philip De Falco, 90, retired Hoboken policeman, passed away on March 3 at Aventura Hospital, Aventura, Fla. The son of Louis and Serfina Bucci DeFalco, he was born in Hoboken and recently resided in Sunny Isles, Fla. Mr. De Falco was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the 110th Army Air Corps from which he was honorably discharged on December 7, 1945. He became a member of the Hoboken police force, having graduated from the Hudson County Police Officers Training school. Philip served his native community for 27 years, during which time he received numerous commendations for his outstanding service as a detective, and was credited with solving a number of high profile cases, ultimately leading to many convictions.
Philip is survived by his wife of 69 years, Angelina Cicala De Falco of Sunny Isles; his brother John De Falco of St. Augustine, Fla.; daughter Sara Petrie and her husband Stanley of Deltona, Fla.; son Louis and his wife Catherine (Kitty) De Falco of Scotch Plains; grandson Philip De Falco and his wife Monica of Hoboken; granddaughters Melissa De Falco and Jennifer De Falco of Hoboken; and Phyllis Kentelton of Orlando, Fla. He is also survived by great-grandchildren Louis and Sophia De Falco of Hoboken along with numerous other relatives and friends saddened by his passing. In accordance with his wishes, Philip will be laid to rest near his home in Florida, wherein he will be afforded full Military Honors at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Fla. during a memorial service on April 29.
