A funeral mass was held March 14 at St. Nicholas Church for Gerardo P. “Jerry” Apruzzese, 79. He passed away March 11 at home. Jerry was born in Gallinaro, Italy, and moved to Jersey City in 1948. He worked in NYC as a construction worker and foreman. He was also a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. Jerry enjoyed gardening and making wine and most of all loved being with his family. He was the husband of Anita (Fallone) Apruzzese; father of Dolores and Stanley Stapinski, Daniel and Jean Marie Apruzzese, John Peter and Emmanuelle Apruzzese; brother of the late Michele Apruzzese; brother-in-law of Geraldine Apruzzese; grandfather of Nicole and Alexander Stapinski and Gerard and Jack Apruzzese.
