NORTH BERGEN – The township officially accepted a $20,000 grant from New Jersey Transit at last week’s commissioner’s meeting. The funds will go toward the free community shuttle in North Bergen, which transports residents from the Tonnelle Avenue Light Rail Station throughout town.
Township Spokesperson Phil Swibinski said that the shuttles costs around $100,000 and that during non-peak hours they are used throughout town for its recreational and senior citizen programs. – Tricia Tirella
