Funeral services were held Feb. 22 for Paul Stavar, 87. He died Feb. 14 at the Jersey City Medical Center. He was born in Taylor, Pa. He lived most of his life in Jersey City. He was a World War II veteran of both the Army and Navy. He was a member of Amvets Post 33 in Jersey City. He worked as a machinist for Western Electric in Kearny. He was the husband of Mildred (nee Wyskonycz) for 53 years; the father of Paul J. Stavar Sr., Russell Wyskonycz and the late Susan Morgante; the grandfather of seven grand and two great-grandchildren; and the brother of Michael Stavar. Services arranged by the Bromirski Funeral Home, Jersey City.
