NAZARIO, IRMA O

A funeral service was held Feb. 19 for Irma O. Nazario, 74, who was a wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She passed away in her home on Feb. 16 surrounded by her family. Irma was born in Jersey City and resided there until 1998. She was a lifelong member of Old Bergen Church, where she served as Trustee, Elder, Deacon as well as a Sunday School teacher. During her years raising her family in Jersey City, she was active in the PTA. Irma was retired from Visiting Homemaker Service of Hudson County in Jersey City where she was employed as a Youth Coordinator. In her retirement she loved watching game shows, “Jeopardy” being her all time favorite. Vacation time was almost always spent by car traveling around this wonderful country, and there was always a state she looked forward to visiting. Touring Presidential Libraries was a favorite destination. The Nazario household was always filled with music, a love she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Spending time with her family was very important to her. Irma was predeceased by her husband George Sr. in 1976 and is survived by her son George Jr. and wife Rachael of Carlstadt, and daughters Diane and husband Gary Giordano, Gina and husband Adrian Morin all of North Arlington, and Susan and husband Peter Fazio of Cranford. She was the proudest of grandmothers to eight grandchildren, Heather, Peter Jr. and Andrea Fazio, Diana, Gary and Lisa Giordano, Kevin Morin and Bridget Goff and husband Michael Goff. The newest light of her life was Baby Madison Leigh Goff, her great-granddaughter. Also survived by sisters Anne Reitzel and Norma Reed and predeceased by parents MaryEllen and Albert Olsen and brothers John and Albert Olsen and sister Marie Fuggit. Services arranged by the Parow Funeral Home, North Arlington.
