A mass of Christian burial was held Feb. 23 at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City for Esther Miranda, 85, of Jersey City. She passed away Feb.19 at the Hamilton Park Health Care Center, Jersey City. Born in Manila, Philippines to the late Casimiro Miranda and Segundina Talise, she has resided in Jersey City since 1973. A graduate of College in the Philippines, she was teacher for many years there before coming to Jersey City. She was predeceased by her husband Leonardo Depat and a brother Oscar Miranda. She was the mother of Lita Nina Depat Aguirre and Linda Depat; grandmother of Michele and Alexander Aguirre and Lawrence Depat and great grandmother of Christopher, Lauren and Lawrence Jr., Depat and Bianca Aguirre – Tsui. She is also survived by a brother Dario Miranda of the Philippines. Services arranged by the Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home, Jersey City.
