O’BOYLE, IRENE

Funeral mass was held Feb. 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul R.C. Church Hoboken for Irene O’Boyle, 83, of Hoboken. She passed away Feb. 6 at the Harborage, North Bergen. Born in Jersey City, Irene was a lifelong resident of Hoboken. She worked at Muller Spaghetti in Jersey City as a packer for many years. She was the wife of the late Patrick O’Boyle; mother of Kathleen O’Boyle-Lee and her husband Gordon and Patrick O’Boyle and his wife Maureen; grandmother of Megan and Sean Lee; sister-in-law of Mildred Kiecha, and sister of the late Mary Doherty, Joseph Moore, and Edward Moore. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Irene was a Eucharistic Minister at Sts. Peter and Paul RC Church, Hoboken; she was extremely involved in the church as a teacher of CCD, member of the Parish Council, The Rosary Society, Siena Club, and Bingo. Irene was also involved for over 45 years with the Girl Scouts of America, as Troop Leader of 408 in Hoboken. She was a former Irish woman of the year in Hoboken. Irene was a humanitarian, volunteering her time for numerous causes. Services arranged by the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.
