Cablevision surprise

To the Editor:
We have had Cablevision of Bayonne ever since cable came to our town. When we bought a computer, we decided to get the Triple Play program that was offered. We have had that program for two years along with the Silver package. I have enjoyed watching the game shows on GSN daily for as long as I can remember.
When I put on channel 88 this past Tuesday, a notice came on saying that if I wanted this network, call the number on the screen. Well, this was a surprise. I called Cablevision and asked to speak with a supervisor. She told me that as of Feb. 1, the Game Show Network would be a part of a new sports package, available for an additional cost of $6.95. I was stunned to hear that, as we have been getting that channel all along. How is it that this company would take away from its patrons something that was already given to them?
I find this action very unfair. If one likes to watch game shows, why must we be thrust into a sports package? Many seniors enjoyed the game shows and pay a hefty price for cable television. Something should be done about this. I suggest that everyone that agrees should complain or switch to other companies that offer more than Cablevision of Bayonne.
