BEOF says thank you

To the Editor:
How do you put into words the appreciation you have for so many people who helped to make the holidays so special for so many? Each year, caring friends of the BEOF donate food, clothing, toys, financial assistance, and other items to make the holidays special to those in need.
For 15 years, Hendrickson’s Restaurant has provided food for Thanksgiving and Christmas so that senior citizens who are alone would enjoy a holiday meal. Global Terminal once again provided 125 turkeys for Thanksgiving and a truck load of toys for Christmas and are such caring friends. The ever faithful Marines once again braved the weather to collect Toys for Tots. They are truly heroes. This year, our wonderful firemen did a tremendous toy drive at the four fire houses. They are truly the best.
The “On the Park Condo” once again did a food drive, and are wonderful friends. The great “Make a Difference Day” throughout the school system, under the direction of Dr. Patricia McGeehan and our wonderful police and Public Works employees, made it possible for our agency to provide many more baskets. The Boys Scouts of St. Henry’s once again did their good deed with “Scouting For Food.”
Each year, friends from Calvary Episcopal Church and Heart of Jesus Church provide extra gifts to be shared with those in need.
To Carol Migliaccio and William McNulty, who each year provide funds to assist us with children, you are very special friends.
To the many individuals who dropped off turkeys, hams, and gift packages – you are special.
Last, but certainly not least, the dedicated staff of the BEOF, who picked up, delivered, cooked, served, and cleaned up. Regardless of what the daily position is, they all pitched in so the holidays could be a little brighter for those we serve.
Bless all of you. You are the best.
