WEEHAWKEN AND BEYOND — NBC in New York reported Tuesday morning that three NY Waterway ferries helped rescue the “Queen of Hearts,” a party boat that somehow got loose from its dock and began floating just off Weehawken’s Lincoln Harbor, all alone.
All it needed was a man, or woman, but it had no one — until it was rescued by the fleet.
NBC noted: “Capt. Vincent Lombardi on The Abraham Lincoln said the New York Police Department Harbor Unit put out a call for help at about 10 a.m. ‘Of course we came to the aid of a lady in distress,’ said Lombardi, who helped rescue 56 people from Flight 1549 in The Miracle on the Hudson on January 15, 2009.”
Now the boat will be ready for Valentine’s Day.
