Dog walker collared

A 28-year-old Cliffside Park resident was arrested and charged with theft after North Bergen police were notified that one of her clients who used her as a dogwalker was missing around $1,700 worth of jewelry.

Commander of the North Bergen Detective Bureau Lt. Frank Cannella said that the victim, a resident of J.F.K. Boulevard East, contacted police and said that her jewelry had been disappearing over the course of several weeks.

“The common denominator between the two thefts was there was no forced entry,” said Cannella. “Through our investigation, [Paris] happened to be the dog walker for both of these people.”
Cannella said that Paris has cooperated with their investigation and has promised to “provide us with as much information as possible,” which was the reason she was released without bail. He said that she allegedly used her spare key to enter the property.
Police have not yet recovered the jewelry. Cannella said that police were trying to find out where Paris may have brought it.
“Ms. Paris would enter the victim’s apartment and take the dogs out for their normal walks and also [allegedly] help herself to their belongings,” said Cannella.
No charges have been filled yet in regards to the other alleged victim.
Cannella said that anyone who has employed Paris as a dog walker and happens to be missing personal items should contact the North Bergen Detective Bureau at (201) 392-2092.

Allegedly phony documents land man in jail

Robin Deleon, whom police allege is an illegal alien, was arrested on Jan. 22 at around 9:15 p.m. when an officer observed him allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road. Deleon was charged with possession of fraudulent documents and also had two warrants for his arrest.
According to Cannella, Officer Joseph Bisone witnessed Deleon drive a white Honda on the wrong side of Patterson Plank Road. After conducting a motor vehicle stop, he asked Deleon for his paperwork, but Deleon allegedly told the officer that he did not have a license to drive the vehicle and that the car belonged to his friend.
He then allegedly gave police a Social Security card and his date of birth verbally. Cannella said that he allegedly gave Bisone at least two “phony” names, before stating that his name was Deleon, which police “…still do not believe to be real.”
At headquarters, he allegedly told Bisone that he had purchased Social Security and alien registration cards, which were both fraudulent.
Deleon had one $400 failure to appear warrant issued from Paterson, and another $520 failure to appear warrant out of Wayne.
His bail was set by Judge Nino Falcone at $50,000, and he was transported to the Hudson County Jail. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was also notified, said Cannella.
