AXELROD, DAVID

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 for David Axelrod, 72. He passed away Jan. 22 at his residence at The Columbian Towers in Hoboken. He was a retired computer technician at New York Tech College in Brooklyn, and a member of AFSCME DC 37. David was a very knowledgeable advocate for alternative health care. As a poet and musician, he could be seen and heard on Church Square Park. David was a well-known local activist. He will be remembered for enthusiastically voicing his opinions at City Council meetings, especially for maintaining rent control. He was also one of the activists who fought for Pier A Park. David was a lifelong fighter for human rights throughout the world. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
