NORTH BERGEN – The North Bergen Planning Board is scheduled for another hearing on a controversial condominium project, Appleview LLC, Thursday at 7 p.m.
The hearing is one of many for the 59-unit residential building that is in North Bergen near the Guttenberg border. Part of the controversy stems from the fact that it would be built close to the high-pressured Transco Williams Gas Pipeline, which runs from Texas to New York City. Also, the developers are asking for two variances since this project would normally need a minimum of 5 acres, rather than 2.3 acres, to be built, and because they have asked the board to allow various parcels to count as one lot.– Tricia Tirella
