A funeral mass was celebrated Jan. 14 at St. Joseph Church for Nancy J. Faherty, 89, a lifelong Jersey City resident. She passed away Jan. 9. She was a homemaker to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All who had the privilege to know and love Nancy will remember her beautiful, welcoming smile and generous spirit. Nancy was predeceased by her husband Walter Richard Faherty; parents, Anthony and Josephine Fazio; brother, Alphonse; and sisters, Rose Kemprowski and Josephine Winters. She is survived by her children, Nancy Donnelly and husband Michael, Alice Casey and husband Richard, William Faherty and wife Elizabeth, Mary Anne Faherty, Walter J. Faherty and John Faherty and wife Debra; grandchildren, Lisa and husband Al, Michael and wife Jennifer, Brian, Mary Alice, Jeanette and husband David, Richard, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Patricia and husband Frank, Carolyn, Joanne, William and wife Christina, and Andrew; 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Anna Marie Fazio; and nieces and nephews too numerous to mention, but whom she loved dearly.
