A funeral mass was offered Jan. 8 at St. Francis RC Church, Hoboken, for Joseph M. Cassano Sr. He died peacefully at the Hoboken Medical Center on Jan. 5. Joseph was born in Jersey City, the son of the late Emma and Guiseppe Cassano, and was a lifetime resident. He was the owner of the Mahnke Deli on Bowers Street Jersey City for over 25 years. He was the husband of Bernice Cassano; father of Joseph M. Jr. and his wife Tanya, and the late James M. Cassano, and grandfather of Christopher and Hailey Cassano.
