Problems ‘snowball’ for group of Hoboken women

When three women got out of their car to deal with people throwing snowballs on New Year’s Eve in Hoboken, the vehicle somehow disappeared with a friend in the back seat, according to a police report.
A team of approximately 10 snowball throwers reportedly ambushed a car with four Hoboken women at 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 near First Street and Park Avenue, according to police. A report says that while three of the women exited the vehicle to approach the snowball throwers, one woman stayed behind in the backseat. When the altercation with the snowball throwers ended, the three Hoboken women returned to find the car missing. They stated that they had not seen anyone get in the vehicle and drive it away, according to a police report.
A visit to the missing woman’s home to find her yielded negative results, according to police. After police called the woman’s cell phone in an attempt to get her location by way of a “ping” through T-Mobile, an officer responded back to the victim’s residence and found that the woman was safe at home, according to the report. According to one report, the woman stated that she was let out of the car in Union City by an unknown person.
“It is unknown what transpired or if the vehicle was actually stolen,” according to a police report. “Further investigation is ongoing.”

D.U.I. arrest on Garden Street

A 44-year-old Hoboken man was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to submit to breath samples, and reckless driving on Monday, Jan. 3 at approximately 7:30 p.m., according to a police report.
Police were called to the home of Gene Super, 44, after a woman called in to complain. Police say that when they spoke to Super, he slurred his speech as he rambled about seeing property that he owns. The report said, “There were different times that Mr. Super was excited, boisterous, and incoherent.” The report also states that the man’s face was “flushed” and his eyes were “bloodshot and watery, while wearing glasses.”
After a neighbor came out to tell police that they witnessed Super allegedly hit the bumper of their car, the police administered “a battery of Standardized Field Tests” according to police. Police said Super was unable to maintain his position during the instruction phase of a walk and turn test, and he could not complete the test as instructed. After the failed field tests, police placed him under arrest.

Pre-NYE party-goer arrested

Jason A. Golub of Hoboken was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. The incident took place at a Washington Street establishment in the wee hours of Dec. 31.
Officers were called to the scene on the 200 block after a report of two persons assaulted with bottles. Police say they arrived on the scene and began to clear a crowd of “80 plus disorderly people” in order to find the actors from the original incident. A security officer at the bar told police that Golub and three other males were fighting in the hallway of the establishment. A police report states that the officer attempted to pull Golub away from the group when he fell onto the stairway. Golub then allegedly “looked at [the officer] in full uniform and then proceeded to [allegedly] kick [the officer] several times in the left knee.”
An officer then used his baton to strike Golub’s legs, according to the report. Police also say the man allegedly resisted arrest but was eventually transported to headquarters without further incident.
