UPDATE: Jersey City’s City Hall open after delay; only essential offices open in Secaucus

JERSEY CITY AND SECAUCUS – Municipal offices across Jersey City were expected to open Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. due to the blizzard. For more information about the storm and up to date municipal information, visit the city’s website at www.jerseycitynj.gov.
And in nearby Secaucus, only essential municipal government offices are open today, according to Town Administrator David Drumeler. Non-emergency calls to the offices of the town clerk, town administrator, and mayor have been rerouted to the Office of Emergency Management. Snow plows are back to work after they were pulled off the streets earlier this morning due to low visibility. The Secaucus Public Library and Business Resource Center planned to close Monday due to the inclement weather, according to a statement released Sunday evening by library Directory Jenifer May.
Although several fire alarms and medical emergency calls were reported, Mayor Michael Gonnelli said Monday morning that none were of a serious nature. No major accidents had been reported as of Monday morning, the mayor said, because many drivers appear to be staying off the roads.
