Time to renew Hoboken residential parking permits

HOBOKEN – If you see a letter from the city of Hoboken in the mail, don’t worry, it’s not tax time come early. It’s probably a renewal letter for the residential parking permit program from the Hoboken Parking Utility.
The documentation for the new permits is due by Jan. 15, 2011, which is different from what appears in the letter. For new permits, residents should “simply submit or bring in the proper documentation indicating your apartment/unit number as well as the appropriate fee for all vehicles in [the] household.”
The fee for the first vehicle in a household is $15. The second car costs $30, and the third and all additional vehicles are $90.
“Please note that it is the resident’s responsibility to make sure that the Parking Utility has all current information, including the apartment/unit number of the household. If a resident’s vehicle documentation issued by the State of New Jersey does not specify an apartment/unit and you believe that your household does not include the vehicle(s) on the list you received, please contact the Hoboken Parking Utility to learn what additional documentation may be necessary,” according to a city release.
If you currently hold a residential parking permit and you do not receive a letter of renewal in the next days, contact the Parking Utility at 201-653-1919 or e-mail parking@hobokennj.org.
