LANTRY, THOMAS PETER JR

Funeral services were held Dec. 15 for Thomas Peter Lantry, Jr., 91, formerly of Hoboken. He died peacefully on Dec. 11 at Palisades Medical Center. Tom served in the United States Navy from 1940-1946 as an electrician’s mate first class through World War II where he received several medals of Honor. He went on to serve for 23 more years in the Merchant Marines through the Korean and Vietnam wars. He is survived by his sister, Lillian May, of Tamarack, Fla.; nephews, Thomas May, of Lauderhill, Fla., and Michael May, of Oakdale, Calif.; and niece Suzanne Baker, of Spokane, Wash.; also his friends, Lisa De Froscia, of Warren, and Alison Tissot, of Succasunna; and most of all, his very close friend for many years, Kathleen McMahon, of Weehawken. Services arranged by the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken.
