Sunday, December 12 at 3:00 p.m.

Relive the Christmas spirit of yesterday and come experience a live, multi-cultural holiday performance of music and dance. The Kennedy Dancers will present their annual “Christmas Cabaret” holiday concert at the Kennedy Dancers Repertory Center located at 79 Central Avenue in Jersey City on December 11 at 7:30 p.m. and December 12 at 3p.m.

The program will include dances that celebrate cultures and holidays from the Caribbean (“Caribbean Silent Night,” music by Special FX), Kwanzaa (“Thanks to The Earth,” music by Babatunde Olatunji), Chanukah (“O Gracious Light,” music by Dr. Larry King), and many more uplifting and enchanting choreographies that celebrate December’s unique holidays and winter solstice. This year’s Christmas Cabaret will feature apprentices from The Kennedy Dancers’ Inner City Youth Junior Dance Company performing along with students from The Kennedy Dancers children’s ballet and tap dance classes. All choreography has been created by Diane Dragone, Artistic Director of The Kennedy Dancers.

The Christmas Cabaret will feature young dancers from the Kennedy Dancers Inner City Youth Jr. Dance Co. a group of elite dancers between 12 and 19 years old, who study dance in all its forms with 9 hours of weekly dance classes and 6 hours of weekly repertory rehearsals. The Christmas Cabaret also features 15 of the Kennedy Dancers most promising young Ballet students between the ages of 3 and 10 years of age. New, in this year’s performance, the Kennedy Dancers’ piano teacher/professional musician, Jean Roman, will accompany the dancers in Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major and White Christmas.

Tickets are now on sale at the Kennedy Dancer’s studio, $20 for Adults and $15 for Seniors and Children under the age of 12. Seating is limited to 55 persons per performance and tickets will be sold in advance only on a first-come, first-serve basis. No tickets will be sold at the door on the day of either performance.
