Funeral mass took place Nov. 27 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church for Eva Staranka, 95. She passed away at Christ Hospital on Nov. 22. Born in Jersey City, Eva was a lifelong resident. Eva had worked as a clerk at Westinghouse Corp. in Jersey City for over 40 years, having retired several years ago. A member of both St. Ann’s R.C. Church and Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Eva was a member of the Padre Pio Club at St. Anne’s Church. She is predeceased by her siblings, William Staranka, Anna Madden and Helen Staran. Surviving are sisters, Pauline Staranka and Nellie Czochanski and seven nephews and their children. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
