A memorial service was held Nov. 30 for Eugene W. Hickey, 81. He passed away Nov. 28 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Jersey City, he resided there before moving to Cliffwood Beach 10 years ago. Mr. Hickey was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was as a truck driver for New Penn Motor Express for 40 years before retiring in 1989. Eugene was a member of the American Legion of Jersey City and Keyport. Surviving are his wife Joan Hickey; his three sons and their wives, Eugene and Ruthann Hickey of Aberdeen, Tyrone and Jamie Hickey of Phillipsburg, Robert and Michelle Hickey of Belleville; three daughters, Laura Flora of Laurence Harbor, Theresa and her husband Aladio Rosa of Lynnhurst, and Karen and her husband Frank Butala of Aberdeen; and 11 grandchildren. Eugene was predeceased by his seven siblings. Services arranged by the Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
