Did you miss JC Fridays? Good news: The four-times-per-year celebration of free arts and culture across Jersey City is returning for an encore this Friday, Dec. 3. This time around, over 40 venues will hold events for thousands of adults and children.
The series was launched in spring 2005 by a group of Jersey City artists, arts organizations, and business owners to better promote the arts in the city. Since its inception, the number of participating venues has increased thanks to outreach efforts.
The next edition of JC Fridays returns this Friday, Sept. 3.

Fun-for-all-Fridays
Now in its fifth year, JC Fridays showcases a variety of happenings including art exhibitions, live music, performance acts, educational demonstrations, and more across the city. All events are free and open to the public.
The events include:
RAPHS PLAZA presents “The Decline of Black Radio,” a new documentary directed by U-Savior Washington on the rise and fall of Black radio. Also featuring the artwork of Happiness, Gerard and Harry.

GENESIS EDUCATIONAL CENTER presents an opening reception for its inaugural student art show, featuring the work that third through eighth graders have created under the guidance of art teacher Palma Petersen. School staff will host this meet and greet, open to the public. Chips, candy, and soda will be served.

PARK AND SIXTH, a recently opened restaurant in downtown Jersey City, presents paintings by Miguel Hernandez. Curated by Tara Thurber (V3-vision.verb.vibe.)

POP-UP ART presents “Exhibit #1,” its first collection in the Jersey City Harsimus Cemetery including live music, local treats, exciting new art, and a collection of inspiring short films.
Pop-Up Art is an artist run curatorial collaboration with Jersey City artists Donna Kessinger, Michelle Mumoli, BethAnn Morrison, Stephanie Werthman, Beverly Sommer, and Jasmine Graf.

O_O PENTHOUSE…A SECRET SPACE IN JC presents “Remember it all started with a little mouse!”
The studio will be open to the public from 8 p.m. to Midnight. A password to enter the space is needed. Disney Films will be playing and you will be able to view the works in progress of O_O.
