A memorial service in English and Spanish was held Nov. 20 at the Kingdom Hall on 23 South St., Jersey City, for Raul R. Martinez, 53. He passed away at his residence Nov. 14 surrounded by his family. Born in Huanuni, Bolivia, Mr. Martinez immigrated to the United States in 1966 and resided in Hoboken since the time he was 9 years old. He was formerly employed as a project manager with Abel Laboratories, Inc. of South Plainfield, for 7 years and previously worked as a draftsman with NJ Machinery for 12 years. Mr. Martinez was a devout Jehovah’s Witness and was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and taking many family trips with his wife and son. He was the husband of 33 years to Gloria Martinez (nee Wong); father of Joshua B. Martinez; son of Eduardo Martinez and the late Francisca Martinez; brother of Gladys, Jorge, Edwin, Walter, and Nancy Martinez, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
