A funeral mass was celebrated Nov. 13 at St. Lawrence Church for John P. Sneyers of Weehawken. He died Nov. 10. A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of VFW, Post 1923, Weehawken, American Legion, Post 37, North Arlington, VFW Post 4697, North Arlington, and the 3rd Infantry Association. He was also a member of the St. Michael’s High School class of 1944 Club and the St. Lawrence Seniors. He worked as a sheet metal worker for Local 25 and Conrail for 40 years, retiring in 1998. He was the husband of Helen (O’Donnell); the father of Kathleen Restaino, Barbara Morris, Sharon Bassing, Ellen Ricciardi, Maureen Sogluizzo, Theresa Shahbazian, Bernadette Cassel, Jacqueline Sneyers, John Sneyers, Susan Parks, Karen Sawyer, and the late Grace Floriani; and the grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of six.
