Parking rule needs to be changed

Dear Editor:
I recently had my car towed because of a temporary no-parking zone. My family and I went away for a long weekend, so I parked my car on Thursday morning, and there were no white signs indicating temporary no-parking. When we came back Sunday afternoon, my car was gone. Instead of spending a relaxing Sunday evening with my wife and children, I was running around Hoboken trying to get my car back. When I went to the police station, the officer said that a temporary no-parking sign only needs to be posted 48 hours in advance.
That makes no sense. If it’s so important for someone to have a temporary no-parking zone, they should be able to get the request in and have signs posted at least a week in advance. What are you supposed to do if you park on the street? I guess we’re not allowed to go on vacation. Parking on the street is hard enough in Hoboken. Give us a break!
