Holiday Hudson Reporter advertising deadlines

Because of the Thanksgiving Day holiday, some of the Hudson Reporter newspapers will have special advertising deadlines.
For The Secaucus Reporter, The North Bergen Reporter, The Union City Reporter, The West New York Reporter, and The Weehawken Reporter, the deadline for classified and display advertising is Tuesday, Nov. 23, at noon.

Annual WinterFest celebration to be held on Dec. 2

On Dec. 2 beginning at 6 p.m. North Bergen is scheduled to hold its annual WinterFest celebration.
The township will provide residents with entertainment, rides, games, food, and a parade on Bergenline Avenue from 76th to 85th Streets. Choirs from the school district’s high school and grammar schools will also perform.

NB employees and local church hosting toy drive

North Bergen Township employees and the Woodcliff Community Church will be collecting new toys for children from the ages of newborn to 12 this holiday season.
Those who would like to donate can bring their toys to North Bergen Town Hall Community Services, located at 4233 Kennedy Blvd., Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as Woodcliff Community Church, located at 7605 Palisade Ave., Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Donations will be accepted until Dec. 15.

Weight loss seminar at PMC

Palisades Medical Center will host a weight loss surgical option seminar on Dec. 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Admission, food, refreshments, and parking will be free, along with transportation from 60 th Street and Bergenline Avenue beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Stefanie Vaimakis, who is fluent in English, Spanish and Greek, is a board-certified surgeon who has performed over 600 “Lap Band” procedures and will be the event’s featured guest speaker.

‘Green Friday’ Nature Walk and Talk to be held Nov. 26

On Friday, Nov. 26, New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubon Society will hold a “Green Friday” Nature Walk and Talk, with the walk from 10 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. and the talk from noon to 1 p.m.
In this free program at DeKorte Park, participants will explore the Marsh Discovery Trail, looking for waterfowl and raptors, and explore other parts of the park as time allows. A bring-your-own brown bag lunch in the Meadowlands Environment Center’s Visitors Center follows. Participants can attend either or both events. Participants will meet outside the Environment Center at 9:45 a.m.

NJMC Flyway Gallery hosts 2010 Employee Art Exhibit in November

The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission’s 2010 Employee Art Exhibit is on display at the Meadowlands Environment Center’s Flyway Gallery now until Dec. 2.
The environmentally themed show includes nature and landscape photography by commission staffers Jim Wright and Lou Coviello, and digital inkjet prints by Lisa Cameron.
“The NJMC Employee Art Exhibit presents a wonderful opportunity for the commission to share the exceptional artistic talent of its staff with their colleagues and the public,” said Robert Ceberio, executive director of the NJMC. NY Waterway offers holiday specials

NY Waterway’s commuter ferries offer a convenient and family-friendly way to come to New York and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Apple during the holiday season.
