A funeral mass was celebrated Nov. 12 at St. Luke’s Church in Toms River for Helen Lemise, 95, of Toms River. She passed away peacefully at her home on Nov. 8. Mrs. Lemise was born and raised in Jersey City, where she resided for over 70 years. She moved to the Jersey Shore in 1988, settling in Shark River Hills. While in Jersey City, she and her family were parishioners of Holy Rosary and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Helen was the matriarch of her family, which includes her children, Peter Lemise and his wife, Linda, Frank Lemise and his wife, Dollie, Annette Mastroly and her husband, Gerard, 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband Peter Lemise and 12 brothers and sisters. Services arranged by the O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick.
