the volunteer arm of Empire Realty Group, LLC, helped celebrate the season opening of the Jubilee Center by delivering school supplies for the children in the after school program on Monday, September 13, 2010. School supplies included notebooks, reams of paper, pencils, folders, and calculators; materials essential for tutoring and homework help. Representatives from Empire toured the facility, which includes a kitchen and large room for homework assistance on the 1st floor and several activity rooms on the 2nd floor for dance, voice, poetry, creative writing, and visual arts.
The Jubilee Center is an after school and summer program for children in Hoboken providing homework help and activities for 70+ students. Its Mission is “to equip children from Hoboken’s public housing neighborhood with the tools, not only to survive, but to overcome the many barriers they face in their young lives.” The center is currently accepting volunteers for the 2010-2011 school year.
