Funeral services were held Nov. 17 at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Mary Belton, a.k.a. Mary Speaks. She died Nov. 14. She was the mother of eight children: Gertrude Holt, Catherine, Gregory, Graham, Michael, Linda, Veronica and the late James Speaks. She also leaves six siblings, Willie Mae Walton, Henry, Eddie, Bernice and Roosevelt Belton and Olivia Calligan. She was the grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Cotton-Parker Funeral Home, Jersey City.
