Washington Street water main troubles

HOBOKEN – Water, water everywhere. If streets aren’t falling down into it, it continues to spout up throughout Hoboken.
Residents on Washington Street between 12th and 14th streets may be without water after a leak in what is believed to be a water main in front of 1201 Washington St. sprung this morning, according to a city release. United Water is on the scene making repairs.
The incident is the third time, and at a second location, in the last three days that water mains have caused problems in Hoboken.
“A water buffalo truck has been ordered and is at 12th and Washington Street to provide water to negate service interruption to residents. Residents needing water may bring a container to the water truck. Police are on the scene to direct traffic,” according to a city release.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
