Funeral services were held Nov. 3 for Allen J. Whitley, 75, of Jersey City. He died Oct. 30. He retired in 1984 after 29 years of service as a senior chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy, and also served in Vietnam. He worked for several years after retirement for UniMark in Bayonne. He was also an artist. He was the husband of Nancy Puccio Whitley; the father of Bonnie Gray and husband Doug; the brother of the late Lillian Samples and Thelma Waterson; and the relative and friend to many more.
