“Two Chicks and a Cellist,” an ensemble in residence at The Hudson School in Hoboken, will open their fall season with a concert of trios by Brahms and Mendelssohn, and popular song arrangements, on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at The Hudson School Theatre, 601 Park Ave., Hoboken. Also on the program will be David Musial, professor of Music Technology at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken and founder of their music technology program. Professor Musial will give a short demonstration on “how to produce a song,” using audience participation to create an impromptu song. Musial has students at major record labels, publishing firms, and radio stations including Atlantic, Warner, Universal, Rolling Stone, Sirus Satellite, and Z100 in New York City. On Oct. 19, David Musial received an award from the United States Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Agency (D.E.A.), praising the lifetime success of his educational positive-message media company “Smart Trax,” most recently for four songs he composed and/or produced, and videos he directed, that were performed live at the national convention for the Red Ribbon Rally at the D.E.A. Adrian Daurov was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, and is a graduate of The Juilliard School. In 2007, he was appointed the principal cellist of The Chamber Orchestra of New York. Adrian appeared as a soloist and chamber musician on the main concert stages of St.Petersburg, Moscow, as well as in Europe and the United States. In 2004, he toured Germany as a soloist with the St.Petersburg Chamber Orchestra, and was appointed the principal cellist of the Bayreuth Festival Youth Orchestra. Adrian performs chamber music regularly in the New York Area.
Una Tone was born in Riga, Latvia. She now lives in New York City, and has international experience as a chamber musician. She graduated from Stetson University, Florida, where she was offered a four-year full scholarship. She won many of the university’s competitions and graduated with a Music Performance degree and Business Administration degree. Una’s engagements include Broadway shows, recordings, jingles, movie scores, and appearances on various TV shows such as David Letterman, The Today Show, Conan O’Brian, Martha Stewart Show, and Fashion Rock. Una has performed with many distinguished artists in both pop music (Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Andrea Boccelli, Harry Connick Jr., Rita Moreno) and classical music (Itzak Perlman, Joshua Bell, James Levine, James Conlon, etc.). In addition, she plays with ensembles as diverse as The NY Pops, Opera Orchestra of NY, Key West Symphony, NY Virtuosi, and American Ballet Theater Orchestra.
Pamela Ross, an award-winning pianist/actress/writer/recording artist, has been a Hoboken resident since shortly after 9/11. Her critically acclaimed one-woman shows have had long runs Off Broadway and in theatres and concert halls worldwide. She has performed as soloist with major orchestras, and is a recording artist with several widely distributed CDs and DVDs. Many of her programs can be seen on public television and heard on classical radio stations. Ms. Ross is a Baldwin Piano touring artist, and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association, The Dramatists Guild, and Screen Actors Guild.
